Great runs by everyone who ran the gruelling 26.2 miles in the recent road marathons. Jorden Burke finished his first ever marathon in a stellar time 3:00:01 to
lead the table for the men and Jo Adamson led the ladies home with a brilliant time of 3:35:00. With two road Championship races still to contest, there is everything to run for at Gin Pit 5 and

We now have our entries in for the MACCL league and SELCC league with a high number of Middleton entries in both the men and ladies leagues. The first race takes place on 16th October at Wythenshaw Park, XC shoes at the ready!
We are now taking entries for the following:
BMAF XC Relays, Long Eaton on Saturday, 30th October. Age Cats - 35, 45, 55, 65. 3K legs.
UMACCC Relays on 30th October at Wythenshawe Sports Ground - Men and Mixed teams consist of 6 x 3km legs and Women teams consist of 3 x 3km legs.
GMAA XC Championships at Pennington Flash on Sunday, 12th December
National XC Championship, Parliament Hill (London) on Saturday, 26th Feb 2022.

The last race in the Fell Championship took place at Waddington on Sunday, 26th September with great all round result for Middleton runners with age category wins for Martha Urwin, and John Hall. A high turn-out was guaranteed as Middleton runners sought to secure or improve there positions in the Middleton Harriers Championship and the inter-club Run The Moors Grand Prix. The top three ladies in our Club Championship were Martha Urwin, Karen Hallett and Louise Butterworth (in that order). The top three men were Jorden Burke, Tony Walsh and Craig Sutherland (in that order). more more information, photos and results go to our Fell Running page.
Wilmslow and Blackpool were the venues for the Road Championship Half Marathons on Sunday 12th September. a good turnout saw excellent runs and a number of PBs as the Harriers took advantage of the good weather conditions. Middleton Harrier fell runners grand day out on the Groovy Kinder Love FR reaped massive rewards in the RTMGP on Saturday 12th Sept. The men scored a maximum of 150 points and the ladies enhanced their large lead by a whopping 100 points Well done all!

Congratulations to Middleton Ladies on their Team Prize win at Whittle Pike Fell Race on Thursday night. John Cox and John Hall both had excellent runs and won their Categories in this tough little race. The Club Championship Tables have been updated and can be found on our Fell Page
Wednesday evening's Hopwood Trot took place under stormy skies and was won by Sophie Wood (Sale Harriers) in a time of 30:41 from Danny Bennett (Rochdale Harriers) 30:42 and Thomas Griffiths (St Helens Sutton) 31:00. Well done to Middleton runners Sharon Goldrick and John Hall for winning their age categories in last night's event. More on our Hopwood Trot Web Page.
Congratulations to Christine Eckersley for winning her Age Category in the last Sale Sizzler 5K of the season on 22nd July.
Some of our intrepid runners line up for a group photo at Turnslack Fell Race on Saturday. A total of 11 runners took part, with Jorden Burke the first man home and Martha Urwin the first lady home. Well done to everyone who competed in this seasons Road Championship 5K Series. This year's series was based on the Sale Sizzler 5K races in Wythenshaw Park and it was a hot Series in every sense of the word!

A tropical evening saw a good turnout of Harriers seeking to post good times, remember it is the best time from any of the 4 races to count!
Jorden Burke came home in first place with a time of 18:17, followed by Paul Whydall (22:55) and Darren Wallis (23:13). first lady
home was Rose Rowson in an excellent time of 25:48, from Fiona Bolton (26:36) and Teresa Hollins (28:27).
A great turnout and great results on Wednesday at the Royton Trail Race for Middleton Harriers. In perfect (ok, a bit hot) weather conditions, the Harriers tried out the new slightly longer course and were rewarded with 1st in Category and top 3 cat places. Well done to Fiona Bolton (1st FV65), Jorden Burke (2nd MV40), Martha Urwin (2nd FV55), Janet Hunt (2nd FV55), Rose Rowson (2nd FV60), Alan Garvey (3rd MV65). Also a special mention to John Hall who would have won MV75 if there had been a class. Also a big hand for Rose Rowson who stopped to assist a fellow runner midway through the race and still achieved a great time.
Well done to you all!
On Wednesday, with great relief, we hosted our first Eddie's Revenge Fell Race since 2019. The inclusion of the event in the local Run The Moors Grand Prix, coupled with glorious weather took the number of starters to a near record level of 156.
With a Covid-Secure environment in place and the introduction of pre-entry and chip timing the participants began the race with a socially distanced walk-thru start over the timing mat before getting down to business.
The first male home was Andrew Fleet (Saddleworth Runners) in 25:50 and the first female was Martha Tibbot (Saddleworth runners) 28:08. First Middleton Harrier home was Jorden Burke (30:05), followed by Stephen Lowe in 36:06 and Martha Urwin in 37:07 (3rd in Cat).
Other Middleton Category places went to Paul Collinge 42:53 (3rd in Cat), John Cox 43:13 (2nd in Cat) and John Hall 45:12 (1st in Cat), Rose Rowson (2nd in Cat). Great running by all the Middleton Harriers who took part.

Sunday saw our intrepid Middleton Harriers getting up before they were awake to travel to Eccup for the 2nd fixture of our Club Championship. In cool, overcast conditions they all had good runs on the undulating country lanes of West Yorkshire.
First home for the Harriers was Jorden Burke, having a great start to the short season with a PB time of 1:02:52, the first lady home was Sharon Goldrick also with a new PB of 76:30 knocking 7 minutes of her previous best! A top turnout by Middleton Harriers on Tuesday evening at the Andy O'Sullivan Tribute 5K at Cowm Reservoir. Great results with top 3 Age category placings for: Martha Urwin (1st), Lisanne

Following latest government updates and guidance from England Athletics we have restarted our regular Club Training nights.
Monday Evening Training (Speed/Hills): Meet at Middleton Arena at 7:00pm. Group Leader Jason
Wednesday Evening Club Runs: Meet at Middleton Arena 6:00pm start, group leader Craig also 7:00pm start - group leader Martha.
Thursday Evening Fell Run: Meet at various locations (Click here for full list). Meet at 6:45 for 7:00pm start all abilities catered for.
Friday Evening Track Session: Meet at Boggart Hole Clough Running track 6:30pm (all abilities catered for). Group Leader Paul or Craig

The Club Membership is only £10 for 2021 (England Athletics remains held at £15.)
