Cowm Res 5K Results!

A top turnout by Middleton Harriers on Tuesday evening at the Andy O'Sullivan Tribute 5K at Cowm Reservoir. Great results with top 3 Age category placings for: Martha Urwin (1st), Lisanne Whalen (3rd), Rose Rowson (2nd) John Hall (2nd).


2021 Road Championship Begins!

The long awaited return to competitive road running  began on Thursday night with the first of the 2021 Sale Sizzler 5K series. In hot and humid conditions Sharon Goldrick led the ladies home in an excellent time of 22:09 followed by Karen Hallet with a time of 24:02 (SB), Louise Butterworth 26:27 (SB), Catherine Murphy 27:58 (SB). Well done ladies!

Craig Sutherland came home in a time of 25:48 (SB).  The next Road Championship event is the Eccup 10 mile Race on Sunday 27th June.

Sale Sizzler Update

Due to a major event taking place in Wythenshawe Park at the end of July, the organizers have been forced to change the July 29th date of the Sizzler  ‘Run With Olympians 5k’  to the preceding Thursday 7.30pm July 22nd.  This effectively means two Sizzler 5k’s on consecutive Thursday’s.


A Piece Of Cake!!

The Green Machines got off to a great start in the first Fell Race of the season at Saddleworth. The Cake Race is a tough 9 miler with 1700ft of ascent, 2 river crossings and a lotta lotta steps.  First Harrier home and 8th overall  and second M40 was Jorden Burke in a time of 1:13:42. The first Middleton Lady was Martha Urwin, 12th Lady and 2nd W45 in a time of 1:34:01. More results and photos are on our Fell page

Congratulations to Alyson Smith and Catherine Murphy who won the Club 50 draw for March and April 2021. A cheque is on its way even as we speak!

Louise wins 3rd in Category at Blackpool Bounceback 10K

Another day, another race for Louise Butterworth who ran an excellent 10K in difficult conditions in the Blackpool Bounceback 10K on Sunday 9th May. Louise finished 3rd in her category with a time of 54:33. A great start to the season Lou!


Return to Training

Saturday training run over Eddie's Revenge

Following latest government updates and guidance from England Athletics we have restarted our regular Club Training nights.

Monday Evening Training (Speed/Hills): Meet at Heaton Park (Car Park off Sheepfoot Lane)  at 7:00pm. Group Leader Jason

Wednesday Evening Club Runs: Meet near the Heaton Park Nursery on Middleton Road for a 6:00pm start. Group leader Craig

Thursday Evening Fell Run: Meet at various locations (Click here for full list). Meet at 6:45 for 7:00pm start all abilities catered for. 

Friday Evening Track Session: Meet at Boggart Hole Clough Running track. Group Leader Paul. The evening will be split into 2 sessions with a maximum number of 6 in each session (including the coach) the first session will run from 6:00pm to 6:45pm and the second session will run from 7:00pm to 7:45 pm.

Please be aware that your details may be used for Track & Trace. All of the sessions are run in a Covid Secure environment and we ask all participants to observe rules on social distancing, wearing of face masks, and not congregate before or after the training session.

The Club Membership is only £10 for 2021 (England Athletics remains held at £15.)
