Weekly News for the Month of ........"May"

Roger Colson 5k & Calderdale Way Relays 16th & 21st May

  • We had the Roger Colson Brownhouse 5k on Tuesday this week. Information has now been added to the Road -Trail Section.....
  • Followed by Calderdale Relay ,please see fell section for write ups.

Transvulcania 1/2 marathon.....14th May

A "BIG " well done to our two Green Machines - Ryan Lindsay & Jordan Hughes who ran in the Transvulcania 1/2 marathon today, A Technical quad busting trail 1/2 marathon (24.28K) starting from Faro De Fuencaliente in Palma.
The Half marathon route goes uphill through the volcano of Malpais, with 2097m of cumulative elevation, Well done lads, super running

 

Nidderdale 20, Kentmere, & Blue Bell trail - 7th May

  • Both Bryan & Beverley O Neill ran Nidderdale 20  - starting from Ripley castle, North Yorkshire.
  • Andrew Berkley completed Bluebell 10 mile - a hilly race incorporating a mixture of towpaths, footpaths & trails.
  • Graham & Janine Jordan completed Kentmere 10k with Graham finishing in 9th place overall. Well done !!

Some tough runs by all the above well done Harriers !!

Littleborough 5k series 2 - 7th May

The 2nd Littleborough 5k went down with a bang - both results have been collated together and are now available to see in the Road race section :-).  Altogether there have been 18 males and 12 females take part with one more left to go, there was a great club atmosphere on Wednesday well done folks...

* Both Ryan Lindsay & Barrie Fairbrother won their age category
* Natalie McConnell did her 1st club race - well done Nat
* Toni Brackstone, Jason Harling, Paul Jordan & Bryan O Neill all got a PB on this 5k course.
* Bob Horrocks did amazingly well on the come back after a Hip operation - good running Bob.......
* Oops and Bob & Barry announced they were a couple last night (hee hee)

Middleton harriers Win Terry Nortley Relays

NEWS Flash News Flash.......
Middleton Harriers mens teams did us proud today at the Terry Nortley Relays - at Close Park Radcliffe, with team "The Young Fellas" - Ryan Lindsey, Jorden Burke, Paul Jibson and John Humphrey winning the Relay and The Mid Aged "Middle Aged " - Craig Sutherland, Roland Robson, Steve Vasiliou, & Alan Garvey also coming a respectable 20th out of 73 teams, well done Green Machines !!

Sprint training

Monday night sprint training sessions are hill reps Back at arena  "FROM Heaton Park" Sheep foot Lane entrance with Jason.
Or track session at Kingsway Park Sports Centre, 7pm, Turf Hill Rd, Rochdale OL16 4XA (there is a £2.00 charge for this facility) free to link for life members.

 

Thursday night Fell running

The Thursday night fell runs have been updated, & can be found in the fell running section. please note:  Members should always ensure you bring a hat, gloves, waterproof and extra layers, you never know what the weather may be like on the fells.
